7 day 6 night itinerary for shark
diving the Little Bahama Bank: The Dream Team offers you the best in
week long diving with sharks trip. Our participants say . . .'There is no
competition! Generally the weather is beautiful but occasionally it might
effect the itinerary. With good weather a typical week on the Little Bahama
Bank will go as follows. If you charter the whole boat as a group, you can of
course create your own itinerary. Day 1) Saturday Saturday, check in
between 4.00pm-7.00pm. Time to unpack, and familiarize yourself with your
floating home for the week. You are free to leave for dinner. When you return
an orientation will be given on emergency procedures and information to ensure
you get the fullest enjoyment from of your adventure. We depart Palm Beach
Saturday evening for our overnight cruise to 'The Bahama Islands'. Day 2)
Sunday Wake up to breakfast in the beautiful Bahamas. As soon as Bahamas
customs and immigration open at 9.00am your captain will get the paperwork
completed, soon after we are on our way. This morning we will be heading North
to the prime dive sites. Before noon we'll stop the Bullpen reef for the first
dive. This site is home to Caribbean Reef Sharks, Eagle Rays and friendly
grouper. From there we go to Tiger Beach and start chumming for sharks. When
the Tigers show we dive the afternoon and evening. We spend the night on
location and maybe have a night feeding from the platform. Day 3)
Monday Breakfast and chumming around 8:00 am, first dive with Tigers and
Lemon sharks. The afternoon we move to Muriel's Garden, a colorful reef where
we feed Caribbean Reef sharks. That night we'll do a night dive on the shallow
Sugar wreck.
Day 4) Tuesday We start the morning chumming on Mt
Olympias a 60 to 100 feet coral ridge on the edge of a wall. Great Hammerheads
cruise the wall deeper than we can dive, but we drop the chum deep and hope
they come up. Between the diving and snorkeling we will be fishing for food and
chum. You may choose to relax and conserve energy, for the next stop - our top
deck is great for sunbathing. Listen to some music, make new friends, read,
watch a documentary, or a movie on video. You can also savor the delicious
meals on board, some mouth watering enjoyable moments. From there we might
cruise for dolphins. When the Spotted Dolphins find us, we watch from the bow
for a while, for photos and video. If they stay we get in for a swim. The
encounters length is entirely up to the dolphins. The prime dolphin ground is
an ocean paradise named 'White Sand Ridge'. The depth here is between
15-30ft(5-10m). The water is crystal clear with a white sandy bottom. Night
time, if we're lucky, we may experience a night dolphin encounter, a magical
occurrence
The stuff of dreams. Day 5) Wednesday More Tiger
feeding at Tiger beach. Mid day dive at Muriel's Garden for Caribbean Reef
sharks. Afternoon and evening we will move to deep water to chum and feed Great
Hammerheads and maybe a night dive. Some groups prefer sharks, others prefer
diving and some like the dolphins. You let us know what you like and we'll make
your trip enjoyable. Day 6) Thursday This morning we will wake up
chumming the deep water for Hammerheads. Afternoon and evening we try for the
Tigers again. The evening might be the Dry Bar a shallow (15ft) reef with
turtles and maybe lobsters. Then late Thursday we cruise overnight to Palm
Beach. Day 7) Friday A light continental style breakfast will be served
this morning. After clearing US immigration and customs at the Port of Palm
Beach we dock back at the marina for your disembarkation, around 9.30-10.00am
